Big Belly Girl
My stomach has really started poking out. And just in case I didn't realize it, my co-workers keep telling me how big I've gotten.
There's a hip hop song from somewhere in my teenhood (I think) that had a chorus that went something like, "Big booty girl, get loose." (I'm not the greatest with lyrics, so I could be off here.) Still, I've put belly in for booty and I've been walking around the house singing, "Big belly girl, cut loose." (Bob has no idea which song I'm attempting to rip off, so maybe it's just all in my head.)
Still, the belly is bulging and I'm now spending several minutes each night inspecting it for stretchmarks. I haven't seen one yet and I've been using Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion for stretch marks. I'm not really sure how it will help, though.

It seems like stretch marks are usually really white, and since I'm paler than a newly whitewashed picket fence, maybe they'll just blend in with my usual ghostly pallor.
What about you? Are you experiencing stretchmarks? What color are they? What are you doing for them?

Unfortunately, stretch marks can't be stopped by Cocoa Butter or any lotions claiming otherwise :( The elasticity of your skin is genetic. So, if you get them blame your mother!
They usually start off as red or purple-ish. But, they fade to white.
Vitamin E lotion seems to help them fade faster.
I've also heard that Retin-A can shink stretch marks. But, you can't use Retin-A while pregnant or breastfeeding.
hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones and not need any of this information! good luck.
Stretchmarks usually start out pinkish and over time become a silvery white. Lotion doesn't really prevent them, it's just how the baby is positioned and genetics that will determine if you get them or not
Well, the good news is my mom doesn't have any stretch marks that I know of. I tend to take more after my father, but hopefully this time her genes are the predominant ones! Thanks for the great advice.
well, they say that stretch marks can't be stopped, because they're genetic. So if you think that using cocoa butter will work, you're wrong. And, i've been getting stretch marks, and they are a REAL pain and i want them to go away.
I have not pale but not dark skin, and my stretch marks are like purple and red. They are so gross to look at too, i'm hoping DESPERATELY that they will go away after my baby is born though.
When I think of Molton Brown it nearly always conjures up an image of stark, modern hotels and dull corporate meetings, which is a shame as I actually do quite like the products. Their corporate association hasn't done them any favours in my book but I'm sure it's made them a lot of money along the way so I very much doubt they are complaining. The new limited-edition Wilde Fairyfleur Bath & Shower Gel has a really light, crisp, fresh fragrance that makes me think of white linen, clean laundry and bright, sunny mornings in the Spring. According to Molton Brown, Fairyfleur (or 'Cowslips' as they are more commonly known) were traditionally believed to bring good luck so if you believe in English folklore you may be cheered on in the mornings with that happy little thought.
