Day 67 - Trials with a new diaper size

Little Elvis outgrew his size 1 diapers earlier this week. I was so excited and proud of him. I cannot say the same for his new size of diapers.

We had a sleeve of those between size diapers -- size 1-2, so we thought it would be perfect before putting him in the size 2s. Apparently we were wrong.

Since we've put him in the size 1-2s, we've done a lot more laundry. Why? Because the diapers don't hold his pee in! For the past two mornings for his first feeding, we've noticed that the bassinet sheet, his little tummy holder and his onesie were wet. This morning his little back was chilly! (I feel really guilty about that.)

I'm not the only one upset with these in between size diapers -- the frog princess wrote about her issues with these diapers, as well as other not-so-useful baby products in a blog called "Gathering dust."

So, for the rest of the week, I'm going to leave him in these diapers during the day and put him in his size 2s at night.

Any other suggestions?

As we say in our house, "Shmecky down". That means, when diapering, point the boy part down before closing the diaper. It might not stay that way, but if it does it should help the wetness issues... not sure if this will help, but thought I'd add my $0.02

We've been attempting that, but I'm not as good about it as I should be.
