The Benadryl made me do it

While our internet connection was down, I had a fairly bad allergic reaction on my left eye. It was swollen, red, painful and itchy.

As long as I didn't look in the mirror, my only big problem was the itching. I can't handle itchiness.

After a call to the pediatrician, I was cleared to take Benadryl as long as I drank plenty of fluids. Since I regularly took Benadryl before my pregnancy, I had some on hand. But it's been a while since I last took one, and my tolerance for the induced sleepiness has really slipped.

Little Elvis and I took his afternoon nap together, but I was still tired when Bob came home to find us sleeping on the loveseat.

Somehow I made myself get up for a 2 a.m. feeding (when will those teeth come in?) but by the 6 a.m. feeding I was down for the count. I brought Little Elvis back to our bedroom to feed, knowing his new habit of eating a little then wanting to play, play, play.

Sure enough, he ate for a couple of minutes and was then wide awake and raring to go. I wasn't, so I just watched as he kicked Bob in his excitement to start the day right.

It took about 5 minutes of kicking before Bob awoke. He started to get up and I innocently asked, "Will you take the baby with you? I'm so tired."

Isn't that awful of me? I think the Benadryl made me do it.
