You can take the girl out of Mississippi...

But you can't make her put shoes on her baby! My mom and I have been "discussing" Little Elvis' shoe situation. She thinks he should wear them all the time, I don't.

When I was pregnant, I fell in love with baby shoes and bought him several super cute little pairs. He wore none of them. It's a pain to put shoes on a baby, and our little kicker always quickly got them off.
So, it's January and my baby pretty much just wears socks, much to my mom's dismay.

Yesterday, I dressed Little Elvis in some cute overalls and a little shirt. We then gave him some couscous for dinner. He didn't seem to think the couscous was too tasty, but he did think it would look great all over his little shirt sleeves.

Bob stripped off the shirt, but left the overalls on him. We then took off his socks and got some true "Mississippi boy" pictures!

I know, you can't see the feet. It's hard to take pictures of a moving model!

I am with you on no shoes! Shoes really are a pain on babies anyway.
Have you checked out soft-soled shoes like Robeez? They are awesome, come in tons of cute styles and actually stay on. Plus kids don't mind them as much.

I hate baby shoes, sure they can look cute but most of the time there just a complete pain. My kids are normally sans shoes and socks indoors because they both hate them.
Just love the look though, suits him

he's cute as a suthern mississippi bo-ay.

you know, i'm not yet at this mom stuff, but seems to me like i've read recently that shoes on babies aren't such a good idea.

something about increasing the mobility due to feeling surroundings or something.
and not walking crooked to balance in the shoes.

anyway- that could be one person's opinion, but i think a "dr" said it somewhere.

sorry i'm vague.
but barefoot's fine w/ me.

Ah, the old shoe debate. I think our moms were told the toddlers needed those white high top baby shoes on all the time to develop proper foot form. I think that has been discovered to be a myth by now?? Not totally sure though. I kept M barefoot most of the time. Actually, she insisted so I just went with it.

lol I've mistakenly bought 2 pairs of those cute little slipper-type shoes for Zachary and he kicks them off faster than I can get the 2nd one even ON him. He never wears "real" shoes, and we live in Siberia. LOL

BTW - loving the overalls :)
