Outside!

Little Elvis loves being outside. I'm sure I've mentioned this before. He gets so excited when he thinks we're heading out, and if I bring him in before he's ready he lets me know it.

Shortly after we noticed his huge love of the outdoors, I started singing Petula Clark's "Downtown." Instead of "downtown," I would sing "outside." I'm sure many of you know where this is leading... another music video!

While in Mississippi, we shot tons of video of a happy (and sometimes naked) Little Elvis playing outside. This gave us the perfect excuse to use my latest song idea.

There is a downside to this video: I am the singer. Bob is the musical one of our family. I am a chorus singer at best. But we had to rewrite some of the lyrics, which means one of us had to sing it. And a deep male voice singing to "Downtown" just didn't make sense to me.

And the playgroup from last Friday went really well. The turnout was small, but I think that was probably a good thing. We sat around and talked for the most part. Little Elvis had no problem sharing his toys, but he expected his guests to share their animal crackers and drink boxes with him in return. He also decided to forego his nap that afternoon. Still, it was nice, and the little girl who came had a good time trying on the feather boa and one of my shirts. It was very cute.

this was totally and i do mean TOTALLY awesome!! you really rock!! :)

I love all your videos... and to be quite honest with you... I think your voice was great! :)

This is something you will all look back on for years and years and really love!! :)

my kids also love to be outside... I think they would live there if i would allow it. :)

Happy to hear that they playdate went well and Little Elvis, the cutie that he is... happily shared his toys... this really hard for some children. :0) My three find it difficult at times to share with one another... just a kid thing I think... but that is really good that he likes to share toys, food and drink. :)

xoxoxo hugs!!

I think this is the best one that you have done. I think that you singing the song works perfect. Especially the helping hand and helping little Elvis walk part. I have to say my favorite part though was the spraying Little Naked Elvis with the water hose. Very cute!

On a different subject, also being from the South, I totally agree with going bare foot in the summer. It just wouldn’t be right for a kid not too. I thought nothing of little our little one walk that way on our deck. I didn’t see what it could hurt, I never got any splinters. Well he did. Lots of them, and I felt terrible. I guess his feet are just more tender and softer than mine. I just wanted to mention that because I saw that you let Little Elvis walk bare footed on the deck too, and I didn’t want you to have to go through splinters. It was NOT fun.

YAY for successful playgroups!! Elvis is too adorable. Ben loves being outside, too. Yesterday he took a nosedive on a curb though....he looks like someone kicked his little arse. :(
