Playgroup preps
Tomorrow we are hosting our first ever playgroup for parents and kids in our neighborhood. I've been to a couple now, and am fairly excited.
Our playgroup will be a little different -- mainly because I don't seem to do anything the regular way.
I'm going to set up my canopy tent that Bob bought me for craft shows and put some of my clothing racks out under it. This will open my garage "clothing store" a little. I've invited the moms and kids interested in fashion to shop and play dress up with some of my formal wraps and hats. I kind of hope just the kids play dress up, but if the moms want to throw on jewelry, capes and hats, well, more power to them.
Since my last playgroup experience of chasing Little Elvis everywhere, I knew Bob would also have to be there. And I hated to exclude little boys, especially since I have one. So, Bob will be performing weather songs, as well as standards I believe. Bob and the boys or other kids will hopefully remain inside.
I haven't done too much to prepare, which is probably bad. I'm serving juice boxes and animal crackers for kids. There will be sodas and water for the moms.
Tonight I'm printing out signs to hang over the racks in my "store," and also going out to buy a mosquito coil. I may end up putting the chairs and tables inside the garage if the bugs are too vicious.
It's been a very rough couple of weeks and I haven't given myself a chance to get nervous about this. I hope that the people who come have a good time, and that I get to know some neighborhood moms a little better. I also hope that Little Elvis has fun.
I may take some pics of how things look before the guests arrive to post. I've been very lazy about working on my clothing website. Hopefully this party will get me back on track.
Think positive thoughts about no mosquitoes for us!!

Sounds like you are doing plenty planning!!! It is going to be a blast!
BTW, about your comment--I wonder that ALL the time (will J understand how much he is love and adored). I started a pregnancy journal and now it is my journal to J. I write in it about every few weeks (though I try to write more often). I tell him about who we, his parents were, what my thoughts are about him, what he is doing, what I hope for him, what my views are about the world around us. They are all addressed directly to him. I copy in a lot of my blog posts as well (which is a great way to start if you want to keep one yourself). I am horrible about keeping up with things, but the thought of the day when I will hand over the journal to him keeps me going.
I hope you have fun...you must let us know how it goes. Also, keep me posted on your clothing website...I would love to check it out! Good Luck!
Hope you had a good time and hope you had a good day today too - see you soon - Kellan
Cannot wait to hear all about it!
