Me and my bright ideas

Some of my light bulb ideas are very low wattage.

I read a post last week about playing with water in a bowl in the kitchen. That sounded like a great idea to me, so I put a beach towel in the kitchen and waited for Little Elvis to wake up from his nap.

He has a little pool outside, but the mosquitoes here are awful! He's been bitten twice on the eyebrow now. Since the spray instructs us not to spray his little hands, he's been bitten on the fingers as well.

I digress.

Back to playing with water on the linoleum in the kitchen. At first, he didn't really care for the water in the shiny bowl.

Then he tried to dump it out. For those taking notes, he spilled water on the linoleum.

I had the camera on at this point.

At least he didn't fall. Yet again, proof that what works for one child doesn't work for all.

LOL.
Yeah, this seems like a fun idea in theory. In practice, well, that's an entirely different story, as you found out!

:) he is just so darn cute. i almost forgot what the post was about after seein' that sweet little face! :)

my mom wanted to bring the kiddie pool in her living room the other day for my daughters (2 3/4 yrs old) and my nephew who is 3 1/2! lol she wanted to put a tarp or something down and put the pool inside b/c it was so HOTT out!! ugh. I talked her out of it thankfully... could you imagine that mess. lol

I would say maybe put Little Elvis in the bath tub with some cooler than bath water and let him splash and play in there... maybe even give him the bowls to play with.:)

and don't be so hard on yourself... you were only trying to make him happy and not be eaten alive by bugs.

I'm surprised it took him that long to dump the water! LOL My 21 month old would have dumped it the second he saw it!

Glad he didn't fall! Yeah, I have to watch out for the slipping thing all the time! Luckily my towel is quite big. And my pot is too big for Svara to tip over, so that helps! The bathtub idea sounds good - I'd do that, only we don't have a bathtub :P

Cute! I know giving water to Esme is asking her to soak herself and everything around her. Even water in a cup!
