Oh, Christmas tree - the carols heard 'round our house

"It's the most wonderful time of the year..." for our cats. Nothing can be better for two inside cats than the addition of a fake tree with jingly ornaments to the decor. "Do you see what I see?" See the two gold eyes and two black ears? That's Slappy peeking out over the top of our Christmas tablecloth bedecked playpen. I read last year that it was a great way to keep toddlers out of the Christmas tree. It might work for Little Elvis, but the cats have no problem scaling the playpen and playing with the gifts.
"I'm getting nuttin' for Christmas... Mommy and Daddy are mad... I'm getting nuttin' for Christmas... cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad." Wally is way too big to climb on our new, not-very-strong tree. He also likes to eat the fake pine needles on the fake branches. As you can see, he feels very guilty. "On the first day of Christmas, my parents gave to me a kitty cat in a fake tree!"

"Rocking around the Christmas tree..." There isn't a better way to spend the afternoon than playing peek-a-boo with Daddy and a kitty cat. (After pulling Mommy's tablecloth cover off of the playpen, natch.)

"All I want for Christmas... " is to hold this wascally putty tat!

"Hark! The herald angels sing!" Mommy made me this super cool stocking!!

Had to end this post with just a little bragging. I made my little car lover his very own Christmas stocking. His name is on the other side, but who needs to see Little Elvis written in fancy calligraphy, right?

It's been a fun week around our house! Hope you guys are having good weeks as well!

Too funny!

We have to wait till after all the birthday celebrations to put up our decorations -I am wondering how Madigan will do with it all! And our cat too!

That's a pretty good idea. We are a little behind this year, so we haven't put our tree up yet.

You're so funny. Those are some great photos. I have three cats and none of them have ever tried to climb our (real) trees, but I suppose there's a first time for everything!

great stocking. i'm sure he loves it!!
so far (3 years) the "kittens" have pretty much left the tree alone. they play w/ the dangle ornaments on the bottom and like to hide under the tree. tug at the occasional bow.
every year i hold my breath that they will remain good.
guess we'll see this weekend!

I almost did not see the kitty in the first picture. That is too cute. I am lucky that M never messed with our tree.

Good idea with the playpen. I love the first pic when you can barely see the cat's eyes peeking over :)
