Random acts of cuteness

Little Elvis is getting to be a little stinker! Each day he does something so sweet or silly or funny that I want to write it down immediately so I can remember it. I never write it down, and end up forgetting most of his funny little moments.

But here are some recent ones that I don't want to forget:

The apple peel patrol -- Little Elvis loves to steal apples and snack on them. He's never been a fan of the peels, though. A couple of weeks ago, he realized that it would be a nice gesture if he would pull the warm, slobbery peel from his mouth and deposit it into one of ours. He won't put it in our hands, no he has to put it directly in our mouths and then will watch until we chew and swallow. (See what I mean by stinker?) Last week, he decided that it was better to put the unwanted peels into the trash can. I'm liking this better, although I'm sure my fiber intake has gone down drastically.

Sleep tight cars -- His love of cars continues, but he is now very insistent that he sleep with one. We got a small matchbox car as a party favor last weekend. I tried to hide it on the changing table for his nap. He fussed and fussed until I finally went in to his room. He pointed at the changing table and once I handed him his car, he laid back down.

Fruit snack scares -- I bought Little Elvis two boxes of fruit snacks ages ago. He didn't care for them, so I just kept them in our step stool (there really isn't any cabinet space in our 5 foot kitchen.) A couple of weeks ago, he succumbed to the lure of the fruit snacks. Since he knew where they were, I couldn't get him out of the kitchen. I had to pull an upset toddler away from the step stool every few minutes. They have since been squeezed into a cabinet.

Last week, I put a bag on the table for some reason. He pulled out one of our chairs (bigger than he is) and climbed up to get at the snack. He pulled the chair too far out, and I was running to get him when he fell between the table and the chair. The snacks fell with him, and although he had a lovely goose-egg, the tears stopped as soon as I opened that little bag.

Cookie thief -- I'm trying be all Suzy Homemaker I guess, and baked several batches of cookies last week and this past weekend. Little Elvis loves cookies almost as much as he loves fruit snacks. I thought I pushed the cookies back far enough on the counter to keep him out of them. But he just climbed on the step stool to get them. He likes to snag one and then run into his playroom to hide while he munches his contraband.

Yesterday I was trying to organize the cookies in a pretty fashion for our neighbors. I was looking at the cookies. They were right in front of me. But somehow my little cat burgler managed to sneak one anyway. I saw a little trail of blue running out of the kitchen, and once I caught up with him, I saw that he had a big oatmeal raisin cookie in his hot little hands.

I'm fine if he eats a cookie, and the oatmeal cookies are his favorites. But he hates the raisins, and just leaves a trail of slimy, partially chewed raisins in his wake. Yum, yum.

I know he's done more silly stuff, but I can't remember what right now. He definitely keeps me on my toes.

That’s funny that he’s so sneaky! My little one has started pulling out chairs and climbing in them too. I’m afraid that he’s going to stand up in them. He is already fell once too, and they probably had matching goose eggs!

It's exhausting trying to keep one step ahead of a toddler, isn't it?

Don't you love finding the food that just doesn't make the cut....everywhere? In the floor, on your pants, etc. Too funny!
Come see the giveaway at my blog! :)

Are they cute or are they cute? I wish Ben would eat apples, though. He's the pickiest little dude on the planet. And he's in a fry phase. *sigh*

Haha, I love the little random funny things our toddlers do every day. Svara does the same thing with apples, putting the peel into our mouths. However, often she's not even in the mood to eat any of the apple, she just wants to bite it. So she gives all the bit off pieces to me. Unless I hold a bowl, then she'll put them in the bowl instead. But what a waste of apple!

All those things that are "naughty" but just too cute to keep from laughing, let alone to discipline! I love this age...
