Mommy needs a nap

At this moment, my sweet angel is singing in his crib. It's a high-pitched, pretty little tune. But I would prefer the sound of silence.
Little Elvis can get pretty cranky when he doesn't nap. Even though the decision not to nap is never made by me, I am the one who will get punished.
And, he woke up at 4 this morning. We managed to get him back down after about an hour.

All of this is to say that he needs his sleep. And I need for him to sleep.

Maybe it's the 4 a.m. interruption, or maybe it's the start of my allergy season. Maybe I'm just tired.

I need for him to nap today. We can sing those pretty songs after we both wake up.

Please take a nap Sweet Baby.

I feel your pain. Life without naps is unpleasant, for all of us.

Oh I love the sound of a baby singing! Though I do understand the pain of no naps - the frustration of not being able to get one to sleep no matter what I try...

i hope Little Elvis took a nap! I have been lucky to not have had a no-nap day yet (knock on wood!). But Svara does often spend some time singing and talking to herself in her crib before falling asleep. Sometimes when she goes to bed at night she spends more than an hour talking to herself!

I TOTALLY understand what you're saying. Isabella now naps only about 2-3 times a week, although I always put her in her crib from 1pm until 3pm. Most of the time, she's singing, like LE, and playing and begging for me to come get her. She's even trying new tactics ("Mommy, I have a surprise for you!").

Toddlers need their naps; however, I think their mothers need them to nap even more.
