Last days as an only child

I had grand intentions of Little Elvis' last days as an only being nothing but fun times.

Sadly, it wasn't to be. His sleeping and eating habits have been awful, and bed and naptimes reduced us both to tears a few nights. So, come morning we were both too tired to attempt anything too elaborate. The massive rains that have hit the southeast didn't help matters, either.

We did manage to squeeze in a haircut on Tuesday night. I thought I chopped too much, but his curls are bouncier and cuter.

And he got to go to Burger King for lunch after pre-school yesterday.

I think Burger King was the problem behind one of his missed naps -- he got it into his head that I was going to take him to Burger King on Tuesday and was too excited to nap. He wanted to play. As is usually the case for us, there were no other kids. But he still had a little fun.
He also got to "make a present" last night. Present means anything birthday related, and he wanted to make a cake for my mom's birthday. This was his first actual cooking attempt. We went with bread pudding since it required no flour.
Today, he went with me for my pre-op at the hospital. I thought I just showed up, greeted someone and went home. No. It was an hour-long process. But Little Elvis was quite the trooper. Luckily, I brought my camera to document today. He still loves to have his picture taken.
Here he's calling Pooh and Tigger to tell them that he's watching their show. I love how he instinctively knows how to use these phones, even though his usual experience is with a cell phone.

While he gets to meet Baby Plum tomorrow, he doesn't really understand that. Little Elvis is more excited about attending his first pre-school related birthday party on Saturday. It's at a gymnastics place. He's so thrilled about seeing his friend and singing "Happy Birthday." (He used to bawl at the end of this song, and now requests it every night. He will even sing a couple of lines.)

In pregnancy news, my ankles are finally starting to swell a bit. It started last night. How funny. This pregnancy has been a lot different from my first.
