Sick baby

So, our assumption that Baby Plum was cutting teeth might be wrong. On Saturday, we noticed that he sounded hoarse. His little coos and cries sounded like he'd been hitting the Marlboros for weeks.

I called a nurse hotline on Sunday and they paged our pediatrician for me. The pediatrician was rude (naturally), but assumed he had a chest infection. I couldn't get us into see the doctor until this afternoon.

No need to vent my frustrations about our awful pediatric practice. If today goes as badly as our other experiences, we will be changing doctors.

Back to my sweet little baby. He sounds awful and feels awful. He's crying a good bit now, especially around Little Elvis. Poor big brother doesn't understand being gentle and poor little brother gets very frustrated over this.
Even though it's very clear that Baby Plum feels awful, he's still super-sweet. And he just loves rolling. He rolls to his right as soon as you put him down now. He attempts his left and gets frustrated, so he flips to the right.

Go Colts!

Baby Plum also keeps his head lifted off the ground when you lay him down. It looks like he's working on his core. I told Bob that if he keeps this up, we'll have the only baby with roly-poly legs and six-pack abs.
