Little Elvis has at least one Mommy gene

I still haven't fixed things. Hopefully this weekend Bob can help me get this figured out. It's very frustrating when you can't do things by yourself, especially when you want to.

Anyway, Little Elvis had his first trip to the dentist today. We went to the dentist I went to growing up. I LOVED going to the dentist when I was younger and wanted to be one for the longest time -- until I decided I didn't like science.

Though I loved the dentist, I'm well aware that most kids do not. Still, I needed a check-up and Little Elvis needed his first appointment. Our dentist does a generic "let's look" thing for a toddler's first appointment. We were scheduled together, during naptime, and I had Baby Plum, too.

Lots of stuff could have gone wrong, but it didn't. Little Elvis may be a whole lot like his daddy, but he seems to have gotten my like-the-dentist gene. He went first, and loved riding in the chair. He liked having his teeth polished, and loved the "vacuum" and "water gun." Loved them. The dental tech had to re-water and vacuum his mouth several times.

Then came Mommy's turn. He did pretty well, and was so intrigued by my teeth-cleaning that he climbed up onto my lap (is it a lap when you're laying down?) and stared into my mouth while she picked and cleaned.

That gave me a little de-ja-vu, because I remember doing the exact same thing with my father.

So, yay. My sweet boy has a little of me in him. But, on our way there, he reminded me just how much he is like his daddy. I got a little turned around, and he pointed out landmarks that he recognized from other trips. It amazes me how he remembers directions and landmarks.

He's going to be my own personal GPS before I know it!

Speaking of teeth, Baby Plum must be cutting another tooth. He's drooling up a storm, chewing on everything, and has a slight fever. I don't feel any swelling, but the signs are all there. Hopefully it will pop through quickly and give him some relief.

Isabella loves the dentist too! In fact, when I tell her that certain foods are good for her body, she'll ask, "Does Dr. Kelley (her dentist), like it when I eat apples/yogurt, etc.?"

And how cute about LE being your own personal GPS. I could use him in my car too!
