The tooth, and nothing but the tooth

Baby Plum's been picky and super-fussy. He's waking up at least once during the night, if not more often.

And I've been blaming any and everything for this -- he's cold at night, he's hungry because we're weaning, he's got a stuffy nose, he's got a dirty diaper. I've done everything I could to remedy these problems with no real results.

Finally, at 5 on Monday morning (after 2 wake-ups) I felt in his little mouth. One of his molars on the top has popped through and the one across from it is pretty swolen. No wonder he's been so fussy!

How did I miss this after we had pretty much the same issues with Little Elvis? Because this tooth is out of the usual order. He's got three teeth on top and I've been looking for that fourth front tooth.

And Baby Plum does not appreciate it when I stick my fingers in his mouth. He's very unwilling to show off his new molar these days and I'm not pushing it too much. We're giving him pain medicine when he gets too fussy, but I think the worst of it is over with this molar. Hence the reason there's no picture of his toothy new grin

How easy we forget things. Little Elvis cut a new tooth every couple of weeks once he hit 6 months of age, and he didn't sleep through the night until he was 13 months old.

No picture of the new toothy
