It's mop time!

I set the mop out the other day, as a reminder to myself to mop once the boys were in bed. Instead, Little Elvis saw my reminder and decided to do that chore for me.

It's his first time mopping, so he didn't think to pick up the letter magnets his brother had strewn all over the floor. Instead, he mopped around them. He IS learning something from me, even if it is bad housekeeping skills.

Funny Little Elvis story. He's also inherited my innate ability to mishear song lyrics.

My mom often sings a little song to Baby Plum called "Little Brown Jug." It goes "Ha, ha, ha, you and me, little brown jug how I love thee." (I asked if this was about liquor and she rolled her eyes at me.) Little Elvis likes to sing this song. He sings, "Ha, ha, ha, you and me, little brown jug how I love me."

He was singing "Bringing home a baby bumblebee" to me the other day. I like his version: "I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee. All the mothers will give me a treat."

And in his church choir they were learning "I have decided to follow Jesus." He thinks it's "I hope you sign up to follow Jesus."

He's a funny little guy. And I'm liking this newfound interest in mopping.

I like the floor! I'd want to mop it, too.
