Boys playing with Daddy

The weather has been very nice, and the boys have enjoyed playing outside with Daddy.
Here, Baby Plum and Cheese Puff were playing basketball in the driveway. Yes, Cheese Puff is wearing a baseball helmet... and pajamas. That's how he rolls. It's surprising Little Elvis isn't in the picture. He LOVES to play with basketball and net. I have no clue why he wasn't out playing in that picture. He even gets ready for school early some mornings, so he can play basketball.

Cheese Puff and Daddy climbed up into their club this weekend to read "Miss Suzy" (a totally random book from my childhood about a squirrel.) Isn't that a sweet picture?

Some big accomplishments

I'm going to brag on the boys for a bit.
Little Elvis won a local writing competition for his age group! He wrote a poem for the competition. It's about our hometown, and is kind of a "fight song" if another town tries to take over. One of my friends read it, and asked if he had seen "Dead Poet's Society," because it reminded her of "O Captain, my Captain." I told her that while I let him watch age-inappropriate movies, I hadn't gotten that one for him yet. Definitely don't want to answer those questions.
Baby Plum has also been doing really well recently! He got straight 100s on his latest progress report. They get points for good behavior in his classroom. It's based on a color system, and you get more points for certain colors. He found out last week that if he had 75 points then he'd get to take a special field trip. He has 76! The kid with the next highest amount of points has 58. He's our sweet, quiet child. He's absolutely not perfect (especially when he's frustrated with his brothers!) But for the most part, he is a really good boy.
Cheese Puff? He comes home from pre-school most days with Smarties. He gets Smarties for making smart choices. He's also super friendly. The child just loves older people. We helped out at a food pantry last weekend, and he adopted a lady to help. He yells "Hewwo!" out the window to anybody that we drive by, especially walkers. His end of school performance is Friday. He's so excited that I'm coming to his school in 4 days! He tells anyone who will listen! It's great that he likes to have me around so much.

I ordered a set of100 80's songs for their Karaoke machine, and it was a solid investment! Cheese Puff LOVES "Thriller" and "Footloose." Baby Plum likes those alright, but prefers "Tainted Love" and "Love Shack." Little Elvis still thinks he can't sing, but he's tried a couple of songs. I ordered this hoping for Bon Jovi songs, but no luck. I played him "Addicted to Love," and he liked it. He also really wanted "St. Elmo's Fire."
Speaking of the karaoke machine, we took it to the cast party last weekend. Baby Plum wanted to sing "Manic Monday," but I had to help him. Cheese Puff "sang" "Thriller" and "Animals" by Maroon 5.

Aladdin Kids is over!

The boys' play is over! The performances were last weekend, and they went so well! It was a great show!
I normally try not to include too many other kids, but I wanted to show off Jafar's costume. His costume, and Little Elvis' turned out so well! I am patting my back a little.
Here are my three. Baby Plum was the tiger. Little Elvis was Iago, the mean parrot. Cheese Puff is a townsperson. We called him a prince. He wanted to be called the Genie.
A better picture where they are at least looking at the camera. I gave Little Elvis pointy eyebrows, but he wiped them off by the time we took the picture.
I had to show off the back! Look at his wings! It took some work -- and lots of help cutting -- but it turned out so well. The hood of his sweatshirt has a beak like Iago, and Iago's eyes and eyebrows. You can't really see it in the picture.

Onto our next big event...

Gearing up and winding down

This has been a crazy period for our family. Super busy. As an only child, I didn't realize the busy-ness of having multiple kids. Now that they are all old enough to do things, it's getting hectic.

But, two of our commitments are winding down... and two more are gearing up.

Baby Plum played his last soccer game of the season last night. He's gotten so much better! He's such a shy, non-aggressive child. At the beginning of the season, he would just stand by the ball if any other kids were around. But last night, he was kicking and following through. He was keeping up with the pack. He inherited my lack of speed, but I think he will be a great defender. He has a knack for being in the right place to block the ball against the other team.

Here he is with his team. I know, too much light. Baby Plum's the third from the left. His team won, although they don't officially keep score. He was excited.

What else is ending? Their play! "Disney's Aladdin Kids."
Here they are in their costumes at dress rehearsal last weekend. Cheese Puff is in an authentic tunic. One of our friends loaned it to us. He looks like a sweet little prince. He's a townsperson. Little Elvis' costume is amazing, but more from the back. (He has a problem turning his back on the audience.) I will take a better picture. I'm proud of it. Little Elvis is Iago, the bratty parrot. I tightened up Baby Plum's tiger hood. He is Jasmine's pet tiger. He's on stage, and doesn't have to talk. It's the perfect part for him. They are all sweet.

My mom has been in China, so I took this picture to text to her. Instead, I texted to the friend who loaned us the tunic. Her boys are also in the play. She responded about how cute, and I felt silly. She said she loved getting it anyway. My dad was not in China, so I didn't send him the pictures. He was not happy. I had all sorts of texting fails on Sunday.

The play is next weekend! Just in time for t-ball and coach pitch! Yay. They've already started practicing. I will have to take pictures. Hopefully, I will remember to do that...
